WHAT is the Oregon Employer Council of Douglas County?

For over 30 years the Douglas County Chapter [OEC-DC] has been committed to facilitating the exchange of information and expertise on local employer and workforce issues facing Douglas County. OECDC is made up of volunteer representatives who work with government agencies, employers and various organizations to identify and deal with area�s employment challenges. The Chapter strives to constantly to be a relevant contributor to improving economic employment conditions through educational community outreach programs. The Chapter sponsors high-quality, low-cost educational workshops beneficial to local employers, the workforce and the community; offers scholarships; donates to Veteran�s employment causes, and facilitates various events and presentations throughout the community that focus on employer/employee issues.

WHO is the Oregon Employer Council of Douglas County?

Our OEC-DC members come from all business sectors in Douglas County. Members include regional and national companies; local business owners, their management teams and staff; Human Resource professionals, non-profit agencies and governmental branches; schools/colleges and educational groups; hospitals and members of the medical community; staffing agencies, tribal representatives, and concerned citizens.

HOW do I become a member?

ALL businesses, employers and non-profit organizations interested in the subject of employment in Douglas County are invited to join! There are no membership dues and our regular monthly meetings feature speakers and presentations on pertinent topics that are of interest to our members. Members in good standing (attending at least four monthly meetings per year) receive discounts on OECDC seminars, are eligible to apply for scholarships at Umpqua Community College

WHEN & WHERE is the meeting?

You have an open invitation to attend our meeting! Our monthly meeting is held on the last Wednesday of each month from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., at the WorkSource Douglas Employment Department, 846 SE Pine St., Roseburg OR 97470. There is no meeting on the last Wednesday in November or December – instead we hold our annual Holiday Breakfast meeting on the first Wednesday in December featuring a catered breakfast and a special guest speaker.

Oregon Employer Council Douglas County Scholarship Award

The Oregon Employer Council of Douglas County offers annual scholarships to assist with tuition at Umpqua Community College (UCC). The scholarship is available to employees or immediate family members of employees whose employer is a member in good standing of OEC-DC. In addition to the scholarship, the recipient will receive mentoring from the council, assistance with finding employment, and free attendance to all seminars sponsored by OEC-DC.
